Manager sacked for stealing player’s credit card to buy Jagermeister
Croatian club NK Zagreb Precko have sacked their manager Jozo Gaspar after he was caught stealing a credit card from one of his players - to buy 36 bottles of Jagermeister liqueur.
Gaspar is widely considered one of Croatia’s best-loved footballers, with his spell at Dinamo Zagreb, in which he made 425 appearances, sealing his place as a legend in the country.
But while as a player he was respected, his time as a manager has ended in disgrace after first division minnows Zagreb Precko sacked him for stealing a credit card from one of the players.
Gaspar was only caught when he was snapped on CCTV at a local store buying a whopping 36 bottles of liqueur - each one 70 per cent proof.
He also tried to use the card again at a second shop hours later, attempting to buy a further ten bottles, but the card was declined due to lack of funds.
Gaspar was immediately sacked after the news was broken.
