Non-league’s Guernsey FC have already hit the headlines in recent seasons for their promising financial state which has enabled them to fund every opponents’ lengthy journey to their Footes Lane Stadium since last term.

They’ve even been in the national press in recent weeks for their staggering fixture pile-up, which sees the Combined Counties League side face 17 games this month.

And now - if they weren’t already - Guernsey are set to become one of the most well-known non-league sides around, as former Southampton and England star Matt Le Tissier today announced he will be playing for his home-town side until the end of the season.
