Mourinho takes fan off the street to become kitman for Champions League game

In an incredible act of genorosity, Jose Mourinho made Real Madrid fan Abel Rodriguez's dreams come true by taking him from cleaning the floors of the Los Angeles Metro to helping out the team in the Champions League.

For years, the lifelong Madrid fan had reserved his summer holidays to visit the Merengue's pre-season training camp in the US and help out by collecting balls and setting up training exercises for his beloved team.

However, this season he decided to travel to Europe and experience the so-called Clasico between arch rivals Barcelona on March 2 - despite not having any tickets for the game or a hotel reservation.

Rodriguez told Sports Illustrated that he went straight to the team's Valdebebas training ground in the hope that he would be recognised by some of the staff but was forced to sit on the roadside after security refused him entry.

Fortunately, Mourinho was leaving the ground when he recognised the super fan and stopped to ask him what he was doing.

When the Special One heard his story, he arranged a hotel and Clasico tickets before asking Rodriguez to attend training the next morning to help out.

And, on the night of the game against Barcelona, Mourinho told him that he would be travelling with the team as their kitman for their next game against Manchester United in the Champions League Last 16.

Rodriguez recalls he began to cry and offered to pay his way, Mourinho responded with: "When you're with me in Europe you don't pay for s**t'."
