Premier League stragglers Reading FC have induced the ire of pretty much the entire world after advertising a job vacancy for a full-time postgraduate intern who will not be paid or receive anything in the way expenses for an entire year.

The vacancy, which was posted by the Royals' on the UKSport government site on Friday,  is for a "full-time Performance Analyst" whose duties will include collating raw data from the likes of ProZone, SportsCode and Opta, analysing it and then providing both statistical and video performance feedback to the club's coaching staff - a role which has been branded both "unfair" and "completely out of reach" by paid internship campaigners Intern Aware.
