Tickets for Fergie's last Man United game on sale at £3,000

Tickets for Sir Alex Ferguson’s last match in charge of Manchester United are selling for almost £3,000.

West Bromwich Albion supporters are cashing in as their team take on the Barclays Premier League champions on the final day of the season.

Seats have poured on to Viagogo, an official online marketplace for supporters, ever since Ferguson announced his retirement and are now selling for anywhere between £170 to £2,500.

Fans usually just use the website to offer tickets at face value if they cannot go to the match.

But the cheapest for the Manchester United clash was £170 in the East Stand Lower, with one top-priced ticket in the Smethwick End on sale for £2,500, plus fees, handling and VAT of £452.

Many more were available at well into four figures.

Meanwhile, on the 1st 4 Football Tickets website, a single ticket was selling for £902.50 plus a £332.50 service fee a delivery charge of between £10 and £25.

About four times as many West Brom tickets are available for the game on Viagogo as usual - and this number is expected to soar further as fans see an opportunity to pay for next year’s season ticket.
