Newcastle's Nicky Butt was booked for a half-time bust-up with Tottenham defender Chimbonda, and was then slapped in the face by the Spurs defender.

Butt then charged down the tunnel after the Frenchman and had to be dragged into the dressing room by his team-mates.

Butt went on to score the winner for Glenn Roeder's side as they became only the third team to beat Spurs at White Hart Lane this season.
