Bewildered by the number of players wanting a pre-season trial for his squad, Swindon Town boss Paul Sturrock fielded two teams of hopefuls at the club’s Community Open Day.

Every player had a ‘text to vote’ number on the back of their shirts — and fans texted their favourite players’ numbers.

The fans’ choice won a chance to train with Swindon for real.
