Coach to drop fat players
China coach Vladimir Petrovic is fed up of overweight players ruining his chances of leading his team out in the World Cup.
A physical examination last weekend during a national team training camp in Guangzhou revealed that nine of the 22 outfield players were too flabby.
"The excessive fat will seriously affect their mobility and speed," Petrovic said.
"I hope they reduce it as quickly as they can."
Petrovic has vowed that the players who do not lose the weight will be dropped from his side and miss the World Cup Qualifiers.
The coach has a history of being strict on fatties after he relegated one striker to the bench and sold a defender for being overweight when he was managing Chinese Super League (CSL) club Dalian Shide in 2005.
