OBE honour for Giggs

Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs has collected an OBE from the Queen for services to football.

The 34-year-old Cardiff-born former Wales captain, who made his Old Trafford debut at 17, collected the award at Buckingham Palace.

Giggs, who was given the day off to attend the ceremony by club boss Sir Alex Ferguson, said: "It is a very proud day for me and my family."
