Dutch welcomed with orange tulips
The Netherlands got a special welcome when they arrived in in Berne for EURO 2008 ... 11,000 orange tulips had been brought in to spruce up the streets of the Swiss capital.
The Dutch play all three of their Group C games in the city, and to make them feel welcome, city officials have decorated the centre of town with pots of orange tulips, grown to order by the Holland flower service.
Mayor Alexander Tschäppät and Dutch ambassador Edo Hofland laid out the first pots, with the latter saying: "We would like to thank the people of Berne for welcoming us."
