Soccer and smoking
When Paul Gascoigne, the troubled England star, was revealed to be a smoker before the `98 World Cup, his manager, Glenn Hoddle, was asked why he wouldn't force his main offensive threat to quit.
"Ossie Ardiles was on 40 a day when he won the World Cup with Argentina," Hoddle said.
"It didn't bother Ossie and it doesn't bother me."
