Vincent Kompany vows to turnaround Belgium’s worst club

FC Bleid currently sit rock-bottom of the country’s lowest league, with a dismal record that has seen them win just two of their opening 28 games, amassing a grand total of 10 points, with a goal difference of -49.

Undeterred, Belgium skipper Kompany aims to totally transform the Brussels-based club - changing everything from their name to their strip - in a bid to see them rise from the ashes.

Together with his sister, the defender has set up a website called We Start From Scratch, which does exactly what it says on the tin.

Last month Kompany wrote on the website: "The club has to be carried by the fans, the present and future ones. They have to become the beating heart of the club. That’s why we also want them to come up with a new name for the club, a new logo, new club outfits and a new slogan."

The first part of the dream has now been realised with a new name for Bleid picked from more than 3500 suggestions by supporters.

After rejecting monikers including Brussels Sprouts, Kompany and co finally plumped for BX.
