One Direction have followed up their hijacking of Newcastle’s training session by interrupting a Real Madrid workout - in order to meet star defender Sergio Ramos.

The boyband, who are currently in Spain as part of their global tour, are used to having thousands of adoring fans starstruck at their very presence.

But this time Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis were the ones to meet their heroes, when they took part in the session and met defender Ramos.

The Spanish stopper, who has enjoyed a solid season with the Madrid giants, was introduced to the four-piece and seemed to enjoy his time with the youngsters.

He tweeted after meeting them: ‘Today I met @OneDirection guys. A great picture with them. Greetings!!’
