Mario Balotelli lived up to his Super Mario nickname this week when he came to the rescue of an old lady suffering from heat exhaustion.

The madcap former Manchester City striker, now with AC Milan, is currently back in Italy after getting injured during the Confederations Cup.

And despite being told to rest up, Balotelli opted to venture out to the shops near his home in Milan when he stumbled across an elderly lady.

The woman had collapsed in the street due to the heat exhaustion caused by the recent heatwave across Italy.

Mario came to the lady’s rescue, scooping her up and offering to take her to hospital, before medical treatment finally arrived.
