Cardiff police on red alert for Welsh derby
Swansea fans will be bussed to the Cardiff City Stadium ahead of Sunday’s South Wales derby, while British Transport Police wearing body cameras will patrol trains and stations as security measures are increased ahead of the Welsh clubs’ first Premier League meeting.
Transport police will man every stop between Carmarthen and Cardiff and use the cameras to film supporters at locations where there is no CCTV in place.
Plain-clothed and uniformed officers will also travel on train services between Swansea and Cardiff to record and monitor any clashes between rival fans.
Swansea supporters will leave the Liberty Stadium at 12.30pm on free buses provided by the club and will travel to Cardiff under police protection.
The away fans will not be able to receive their match tickets unless they take advantage of this service.
