Liverpool announce academy in China
Liverpool have launched a full-time football academy in China with the creation of the Guilin International Football Academy.
The Reds have linked up with Guilin Kingsborn to operate a purpose-built complex featuring full-size pitches, practice areas, classrooms, changing rooms, lecture theatres and medical facilities.
The academy, set in Guilin City and based in the Guangxi Zhuang region of southern China, is the second such international academy opened in Asia by the club, having announced a similar set-up in India recently.
Coaches from Liverpool will work within the frameworks of the project, looking to recruit and train local coaches as the club looks to improve football standards within the region and also looking to develop young players.
