Thierry Henry only joined Arsenal because he bumped into Arsene Wenger on a plane

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has revealed that his historic Gunners career all came about because of a chance meeting with Arsene Wenger on a flight to Paris.

The Highbury hero tells the story of how he became the Premier League's greatest striker in a new Arsenal Media documentary titled: Arsenal Legends - Thierry Henry.

In it, the 36-year-old recounts how just four months after arriving in Turin at Italian giants Juventus, he had decided to leave the Stadio Delle Alpi - and that sharing a flight with his former mentor led to his arrival on English soil.

"After the game, the Juve game at the end of the season I went back to Paris. And who was on the plane....the boss [Arsene Wenger] was on the plane," recounts Henry.

"And that's when I told him that I would love to join Arsenal.

"And after it, that's what happened."
