AFC Wimbledon ask fans to allow new signings to live at their house

Most clubs are looking to add to their squad during the January transfer window - and League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon are no different.

But Neal Ardley’s side need a little help to bring in new signings, with the club asking fans to provide homes for players they get on loan.

Wimbledon operate with one of the smallest budgets in league football, and finding accommodation for their stars is another expense they can’t afford.

So the club have asked supporters on their official website to step forward - and provide a loan player with a bed for a few weeks.

‘If you have a spare room in your family home and live a reasonable distance from AFC Wimbledon, based in Kingston upon Thames, then we would like to hear from you,’ read a club statement.

And there’s immediate need for space with Wimbledon bringing striker Charlie Wyke in from Middlesbrough in the last few days.
